Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Lights On Illinois collects when you use lightsonillinois.com, and how we use it.
What we collect
When you request a Backup Power Check: your first name, phone, email, ZIP code, whether you own your home, your utility, whether you have solar, what you want to keep running during an outage, and your preferred contact time. We also record the consent you gave (the exact text, its version, the date and time, your IP address and browser) and basic campaign information (for example, which ad or page you came from).
How we use it
To contact you about your request, prepare your Backup Power Check, and, only with your permission, introduce you to a licensed installer partner who can prepare a written quote. We do not sell your personal information.
Calls and texts
We only call or text you if you checked the consent box: “By checking this box, I agree that Lights On Illinois may contact me at the phone number and email I provided about home backup power, including by calls and text messages that may use automated technology or an AI assistant. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.” We contact you between 9am and 8pm Central time, Monday to Saturday, never on Sundays or holidays. Reply STOP to any text, tell us on a call, or use our stop-contacting-me form, and we will put you on our do-not-contact list and stop.
Newsletter
If you sign up for Lights On Club, we store your email, the date, and the consent text you agreed to. We only add you after you click the confirmation link we email you. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Sharing
We share your details with an installer partner only after you agree to it. We use service providers (for example, a CRM and email/SMS tools) to run our business; they may only use your data to provide those services to us.
Analytics and advertising
We count visits and actions on this site (pages viewed, calculator used, form steps, which ad or link you came from) with our own analytics, which uses no cookies and does not store your IP address.
We may also use these services to understand how the site is used and whether our ads work: Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and anonymized session replays, with form fields masked), Vercel Web Analytics, and the advertising measurement tools of Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google Ads. They may set cookies or similar identifiers and receive information such as your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you visit. We tell them only that an action happened (for example, a form was sent or a call was booked). We never send them your name, phone, email or form answers.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Meta, TikTok or Google Ads tools. You can also opt out through Google’s opt-out add-on, your ad settings at Meta and in the TikTok app, or the DAA’s WebChoices tool.
Retention and your choices
We keep consent and contact records for at least 2 years as required for compliance. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, at hello@lightsonillinois.com.
